YUKON, Okla. – Mother, small business owner and House District 43 candidate Sarah Baker will speak to the Canadian County Democrats on Monday, August 11. The public is invited to attend the meeting from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard in Yukon.

Baker is the Democratic candidate for Oklahoma’s House District 43. Her candidacy is based on the idea that Oklahomans care more about good government and quality leadership that listens and cares about their concerns than party affiliation and politics as usual.

As a mother to three young children, Sarah sees the frustration of parents, students, and educators as they deal with a public education system that is seemingly out-of-touch with reality. Through her work with Oklahoma Farm Bureau Public Policy, she saw how grassroots advocacy can work to change the system and improve the lives of others.

“Sarah took her experience with her to work with the Oklahoma PTA on behalf of parents, students, and teachers advocating and fighting for laws that improve and support our educational system,” Canadian County Democrats Secretary Shirley Burton said. “We are looking forward to hearing what Sarah has to say on August 11.”

Baker lives with her husband, Joel, and three children. She has a deep commitment to representing all members of her community with fairness and respect.

The Canadian County Democrats regularly meet at 7:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, except December, at the Yukon Police Department. The members will celebrate with a holiday party in December on a date to be announced soon. For more information, phone 405-354-3189.
