Yukon attorney Mark Hammons to speak at Canadian County Democrats’ March 10 meeting

YUKON, Okla. – Attorney Mark E. Hammons, Sr. from Yukon will speak from 7-8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 10, at the Canadian County Democrats’ monthly meeting.

Hammons currently serves as vice chair of the Canadian County Democrats.
He will focus on the current state Senate and House districts in Canadian County and the fight to contest redistricting in 2012 based on provisions in the state constitution.

The meeting will be held at the Yukon Police Department located at 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard.

Democrats and their guests are encouraged to attend. The presentation is free with seating available on a first come, first served basis.

Hammons served three terms as an Oklahoma state representative from 1972 to 1978.

He attended undergraduate school at the University of Oklahoma and received his Juris Doctorate from Oklahoma City University in 1976.

Hammons is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Oklahoma, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Oklahoma, the Northern District of Texas, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

He is the founder and President of the Oklahoma Employment Lawyers Association and the head of the Tenth Circuit affiliate of the National Employment Lawyers Association.

He was appointed and has served two terms on the executive board of the National Employment Lawyers Association, co-chairman of the nominating committee and co-chairman of the affiliate relations committee along with other committee appointments.
