EL RENO, Okla. – Sponsors are needed to help the Canadian County Democrats double the amount of school supplies distributed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 18, in cooperation with the Lord’s Harvest food bank, 1020 Sunset Drive, El Reno.

The supplies will be distributed on a first come, first served basis. In past years, all the school supplies were gone in less than one hour.
 
“This is the sixth year the Canadian County Democrats have provided school supplies for kids in our community,” county Chair Jody Harlan said. “Donations are needed and welcome because we are helping twice as many students as previous years.”
 
Individuals who want to help and business owners who have ink pens, pencils or other supplies imprinted with their company name are encouraged to donate items for distribution.

The Canadian County Democrats will also register voters as part of the school supply giveaway.
