EL RENO – Oklahoma Democratic Party Vice Chair Christine Byrd will speak to the Canadian County Democrats at 7 p.m. on Tues, Nov. 9, at Canadian Valley Technology Center. The facility is located at 6505 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.
The meeting is free and open to the public with seating available on a first come, first served basis.
Byrd will discuss the results of general election on Nov. 02. Her presentation will be followed by a discussion strategic planning discussion focused on goals for the Canadian County Democrats in 2011.
A long-time Democratic Party activist, Byrd has frequently participated in Canadian County Democrat activities, such as candidate forums and the Back to School giveaway of school supplies.
She teaches in the graduate department at Langston University in Oklahoma City and is raising two grandchildren who frequently attend activities with her.
The Canadian County Democrats meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday each month, except December. at Canadian Valley Technology Center. On Dec. 10, the organization will replace the monthly meeting with its annual Holiday Celebration and Silent Auction from 7-10 p.m. at the Yukon Roundup Club, located at 600 Main Street, east of the bowling alley in Yukon. The Democrats’ popular Bean Supper Band will perform.
