EL RENO – Oklahoma Democratic Party Chair Todd Goodman will speak to the Canadian County Democrats at 7 p.m. on Tues, Feb. 9, at Canadian Valley Technology Center. The meeting will be free and open to the public with seating available on a first come, first served basis. The facility is located at 6505 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.
A lifelong member of the Oklahoma Democratic Party, Goodman has served as state party chair and acting executive director since August 2008. His previous positions with the state party and Democratic National Committee include field director, voter file manager and communications director.
Goodman grew up in Oklahoma City, spending much time in his childhood at the family farm in Shawnee. He learned the value of Democratic activism from his parents who passed along their Democratic values - including the importance of volunteerism - to their children. Goodman has joined his family in volunteering on many campaigns.
He was educated at Drew University in Madison, NJ and began his career in medical equipment sales, becoming chief operating officer for a medical device startup in New York and managing a multimillion-dollar sales territory for Johnson & Johnson.
In addition to dedicating his time and energy to the Democratic Party, Goodman is an active member of the Caddo Tribe who serves on that nation’s housing board. He is a member of the Planning Committee for "Red Tie Night," the premier which benefits the Oklahoma Aids Care Fund, and volunteers for Loaves and Fishes, Habitat for Humanity, Regional Food Bank and the Paseo Neighborhood Association.
The Canadian County Democrats meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month, except Dec., at Canadian Valley Technology Center. For more information, visit www.canadiancodems.org or phone 405-354-3189.
