YUKON, Okla. Michael Brooks-Jiménez, candidate for Senate District 44, will be the featured speaker at the Canadian County Democrats’ meeting on Monday, October 13. Senate District 44 includes an area in the eastern part of the county near Oklahoma City and Mustang.
Democrats are encouraged to attend from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis.
Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Brooks-Jiménez is an attorney and small business owner who learned the importance of hard work growing up in a middle class family.
“As a state Senator, I will focus on improving public education and building the economy within Oklahoma, to create a more prosperous state now and into the future,” Brooks-Jiménez said. “We have to make sure students receive an education that prepares them for real life.”
“We also a responsibility to our seniors, our veterans, and most importantly our children.
Brooks-Jiménez earned a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University and a juris doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. After graduation, he started his law firm that currently employs six attorneys and a support staff of twelve.
He is a member of St. James Catholic Church and is active in the Boy Scouts and South Oklahoma City Chamber.
Brooks-Jimenez has been married to his college sweetheart, Jessica, for 14 years. They have two children, Joaquin and Lucy.
