The Canadian County Democrats will announce the winners of two $500 Robert "Bob" Burton Young Democrats Scholarships. The Bean Supper Band is scheduled to perform. Other activities include horse shoes, swimming and relaxing with friends. There is no charge to attend.
The county organization will provide hot dogs and soft drinks. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and side dishes and desserts to share.
"This year we’ve renamed our annual scholarship in honor of our former Vice Chair Bob Burton, who passed way this year," Canadian County Democrats Chair Jody Harlan, said. "We think Bob would be glad to know that scholarships in his name are helping Young Democrats continue their educations."
