Media Release: Meeting location changed for Canadian County Democrats’ meeting on January 12

 YUKON, Okla. – The Canadian County Democrats have changed the location for their first meeting of the year at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 12. The January meeting will take place in the conference room at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital located at 1201 Health Center Parkway in Yukon. Map: http://mapq.st/1zQ43Oe.
 
The speaker, Jacquelyn Walsh, will focus on tracking state legislation and votes in the Oklahoma Senate and House of Representatives. Walsh serves as the legislative assistant to Representative Scott Inman, who is the Democratic leader in the Oklahoma House of Representatives.

The state legislature will convene on Monday, February 02, 2015.

“We encourage all Democrats to attend our January meeting and appreciate Integris Canadian Valley Hospital for providing the meeting location on short notice,” Canadian County Democrats Secretary Shirley Burton said.

Walsh graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2005 with a bachelor’s of arts in political science and a minor in Mandarin Chinese.  Upon graduation, she worked for seven years as a probation officer and liaison to the district attorney’s office at the Gary E. Miller Children’s Justice Center before moving to the Capitol. 

The Canadian County Democrats will meet from February through November at 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month (except December) at the Yukon Police Department located at 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard. For more information, call 405-354-3189.
