EL RENO, Okla. – Valorie Owens, the policy director for the House Democratic Caucus, will speak to the Canadian County Democrats on Tuesday, June 12. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis for the free event, which starts at 7 p.m. at Canadian Valley Technology Center, located at 6506 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.

Owens, who works in the office of Democratic Minority Leader Representative Scott Inman, will explain her duties as policy director, focus on a review of the recent legislative session and analyze hot topic issues that delineate the Democratic platform from the Republican agenda.

“We are happy Valorie can speak to us about the legislature at such a busy time for her,” Canadian County Democrats Vice Chair Rodney Boegel said. “We want to have a big crowd that really makes her feel welcome.”
Owens earned both her bachelor’s of arts in criminology and her master’s of arts in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She and her husband, Jay, have three daughters, Caitlin, Allison and Emma. The family resides in Oklahoma City.

The Canadian County Democrats regularly meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tues. of each month, except December, at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
