EL RENO, Okla. – The Canadian County Democrats BS and Beans Supper on Saturday, August 03, will feature nearly 100 silent auction items.
Items include a hand-crafted afghan shaped like a U.S. flag and an autographed football signed by Heisman trophy winners, Steve Owens, Billy Sims and Jason White.
The event starts at 6 p.m. at Redlands Community College conference center, 1300 S. Country Club Road in El Reno.
The Bean Supper Band will entertain starting at 6 p.m. while guests check out the auction items. Band members are Worth Lambert from Kingfisher, Joey Larsen from Oklahoma City, Ron Marlett from Bethany, and Tim Wagner and Tim O’Connor, from Yukon.
Oklahoma Observer Editor Arnold Hamilton will be the keynote speaker at the Canadian County Democrats’ BBQ dinner on August 3 at Redlands Community College.
Participating candidates include candidates for Congressional District 5, Barbara Babcock and Tom Guild; candidate for Congressional District 4, Tae Si; candidate for House District 65, Donna Bebo; and three candidates for Superintendent of Public Education, Jack Herron, Dr. John Cox and Donna Anderson-Bennington.
BS and Beans’ keynote speaker is Arnold Hamilton, editor of the Oklahoma Observer since 2006. A 32-year veteran of daily newspapers, Hamilton is a former staff writer for the Dallas Morning News, the San Jose Mercury News, the Dallas Times Herald, the Tulsa Tribune and the Oklahoma Journal. Hamilton served 18 years as Dallas Morning News Oklahoma Bureau Chief, a regional correspondent and a member of the politics/elections team
