Canadian County Democrats to elect county officers, delegates at April 11 convention

CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. - Democrats are invited to attend the Canadian County Democrats’ County Convention from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sat., April 11. The group will convene to elect county officers and delegates to represent Canadian County at district and state conventions.

The convention will be held in room 133 at Canadian Valley Technology Conference located at 6505 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.

Only those elected at the precinct meetings held in March will have voting privileges at this meeting. However, those who were not able to attend the precinct meeting may be elected as officers or delegates.
Democrats will elect a county chair, vice chair and secretary at the county convention. Officers will serve for two years.

The group will also elect 10 delegates to represent the county at the Third Congressional District Convention at 10 a.m. on Sat., May 2, at Church at the Territorial Plaza, 750 N. Main in Perkins.

Two elected delegates from the Mustang area will represent the county at the Fourth Congressional Convention on Sat., May 9, at the Bosa Community Center, 207 Bosa Avenue, in Pauls Valley. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The convention starts at 10 a.m.
Dr. Tom Guild will be the featured speaker at the Canadian County Democrats’ regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13, at the Yukon Police Department, 100 S. Ranchwood Boulevard. Dr. Guild is professor emeritus at the University of Central Oklahoma and a founder the Brennan Society of Oklahoma, an organization dedicated , to the promotion of progressive ideals, issues and political candidates.
