Democrats Invited to Precinct Meetings March 10

posted Feb 26, 2011, 10:43 PM by Jody Harlan
The Canadian County Democrats will meet at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, at Canadian Valley Technology Center to elect officers for 52 neighborhoods known as precincts. The meetings will be held in the conference at Canadian Valley Technology Center located at 6505 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno. Openings are available for chairs, vice chairs and secretaries.

The Democrats will not hold their monthly meeting on the second Tues. in March because the precinct meetings are scheduled so close to the regular meeting time.

Precinct officers may register voters in their neighborhoods, assist the county party with special events and help candidates during elections. Others are less active, but still important to the county party.  Those elected to precinct offices will also elect county officers and delegates to represent county Democrats at district and state conventions later in the spring.

Bean Supper Band members Rodney Boegel, Tim O’Connor and Tim Wagner, both from Yukon, will play several tunes at the start of the meeting. Snacks will be served.

The Canadian County Democrats’ meetings at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month (except Dec.) will resume on April 12 at Canadian Valley Technology Center.
