CC Dems & Friends Rock Czech Fest

posted Oct 5, 2010, 9:40 PM by Jody Harlan
Democrat candidates Billy Coyle for Congressional District 5, Sephen Covert for State Treasurer, J. P. Hemminger for House District 43 and Maya Torrala for House District 56 joined the rest of the gang for the Czech Parade last Saturday, Oct. 02. Photographers Glenn and Jane Hightower and Darla Shelden arenot in the photo.
Billy Coyle brought bags of candy. We had lots of signs for walkers, plus three special signs modeled  by Susan Schmidt on the historic, road sign Burma Shave ad campaign. I stickered up the kids on the parade route with popular Sooners for Jari or Cowboys for Jari stickers (Nobody said "no!) and soon fell way behind the float and walkers.  It was the first time I'd walked since foot surgery, but I didn't  feel a thing -- until later that day.
Probably the most amazing thing about Czech Fest this year was a solo float for Democrat Jim Priest for Attorney General that was built and staffed a new Republican friend. Just goes to show that everybody knows a good candidate when they meet one! If you were at Czech Fest, thanks so much! If not, we'll catch you next year!
