Now is time to move our state forward by electing Oklahoma Democratic Party precinct and county officers. It is also the time to write resolutions and bring them forward through the conventions. We need YOU to join us for the Official Precinct Officer Elections Meeting on Thursday March 10th from 7-9 p.m. in the large conference room (“The Silo) at the west end of Canadian Valley Tech Center, 6505 E Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno. We will have snacks and entertainment by the Bean Supper Band. We will NOT have our regular monthly meeting on the 2nd Tuesday in March, but will return that schedule in April.
Please look for the calendar below. We have 53 precincts in Canadian County. Each precinct will elect a chair, vice chair and a secretary for their precinct. All have to be registered Democrats and live in that precinct. This grassroots effort is very important, but you can participate without giving a lot of time. There is a requirement for the chair and vice chair to be of the opposite sex. We need to fill as many precincts as possible to help build our county party. If you don’t know what precinct you’re in, please go to http://www.ok.gov/elections/ppl/index.php.
We will have the County Convention from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., April 2. That’s when we elect our county officers and delegates to represent us at the District and State Conventions.
