American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) public employees union, will speak to the Canadian County Democrats on Tues, May 10, about the impact of the repeal of the Municipal Employee Collective Bargaining Act on non uniformed public employees and the communities where they are organized.
The title of his presentation is "The Future of Collective Bargaining for Public Employees in Oklahoma."
Seating is available on a first come, first served for the free event, which starts at 7 p.m. at Canadian Valley Technology Center, located at 6506 E. Highway 66 between Yukon and El Reno.
Jordan will discuss the differences between collective bargaining privileges versus collective bargaining rights and how this crucial difference represents an opportunity for public employees to take the offensive in reclaiming their collective bargaining rights in local charters.
Born and reared on the family farm near in Miles City, Mont., Jordan studied political science and energy economics at the University of Montana in Missoula before taking a job with the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers’ Alternative Energy Action Committee in Seattle.
